Benefits of an IRA charitable rollover

  • You can help SLCC students reach their education goals and create diverse opportunities for the future
  • A charitable rollover can help satisfy your annual required minimum distribution, if you are age 72 or older
  • You can avoid taxes on transfers from your IRA to Salt Lake Community College, up to $105,000
  • Your gift is not subject to the deduction limits on charitable donations

How an IRA charitable rollover gift works

  1. Contact your IRA plan administrator to make a gift from your IRA to Salt Lake Community College.
  2. Your IRA funds will be directly transferred to the foundation to help our students.
  3. Please contact us if you wish for your gift to be used for a specific purpose.
  4. Please note that IRA charitable rollover gifts do not qualify for a charitable tax deduction because the IRA funds have not been taxed.
